It is January and we are putting our New Years resolutions in to action. Join us as we share in-depth information about the photos you see on our Facebook page, and follow us on twitter to know when new photos have been posted.
Every project begins with a conversation with the home owners regarding their vision and goals. We will share the pieces that go into each project – the challenges, the choices, the benefits of the final treatment selected, and of course, the pictures!
We hope you enjoy the beautiful photographs and maybe find an answer to one of your window challenges. We would love for you to subscribe, or leave us feedback with comments or questions!
To kick it off, here is our most recent install for a baby nursery:

The many windows in this nursery provided lots of cheerful light and created a warm and inviting space. This many windows in a room cause situations regarding radiant heat, lack of privacy-especially at night, and light control for naps. The home owner chose flat Roman shades to address these issues.
These inside mounted, cream linen shades with peony silk banded bottoms are reverse mount and black out lined. The reverse mount style allows the shades to fit closer to the glass, allowing less light strike around the edges and more privacy. The valances add interest while hiding the lift control system. The black out lining provides climate and light control, keeps the pattern/fabric from “washing out” from the sun, and conceals the shadows of the rings and draw cords. The inside mount allows display of the 100 year old wood trim and minimum holes from the mounting hardware.
The continuous loop clutch system was chosen for the lift mechanism. This style of lift system allows multiple shades to easily be drawn to the same height, eliminating tangled draw cords and cord cleats common to pulley systems. As another detail, the contrasting silk bottom was applied on top of the linen, which will allow the banding to be removed at a later date if the color scheme changes.
The final product, as you can see, complemented the decor of the room, provides a day time top treatment and complete privacy and light block when needed.
